You’d think with the amount of singles and albums he’s sold that Tinie Tempah would be able to afford to upgrade his own phone, right?
Well, backstage in the media room at the MOBO Awards we were told that the singer nipped into the VIP area to get his hands on a limited edition tattooed HTC One M8 smartphone, which was being handed out to winners and award presenters at the MOBO Awards.
He went into the room after going on stage to present an award with Nicole Scherzinger. And he didn’t just bag one free phone, oh no…not even two. He walked away having blagged FOUR handsets because his team liked them so much.
The phone manufacturer enlisted the help of two big name tattoo artists, Lal Hardy and Cally-Jo, who’s tattooed Rhianna, to produce the design for the “tattooed” M8, which features a black 1950s style microphone with an angel wing on the gunmetal grey HTC handset.
The gifting team was a bit panicked as it could have left them short, with just 12 handsets to hand out to the remaining winners – and no doubt there will have been someone who missed out on the limited edition freebie.
No one likes a freeloader right? Let’s just hope he was giving them to his award-winning mates who were too busy watching the show so didn’t get a chance to collect theirs? Or gave them to charity? And he didn't just pop them on eBay to make a tiny profit.
