For some acts (such as One Direction SCREAM) the X Factor means major success and big bucks but for others (COUGH Steve Brookstein COUGH) it means not passing go and heading straight to the local dumpster.
And it seems that’s how boyband Rough Copy’s television talent show journey ended as they’ve been dropped from their record label after their debut single, a cover of Anita Baker’s 1986 hit Sweet Love, failed to make it into the top 100 of the charts. Ouch!
A music industry insider told The Sun on Sunday: “Epic were clearly unhappy with how the single had performed. It was expected to chart in the Top 10 considering the platform they had been given through the X Factor.
“Both sides are insisting it was an amicable and mutual split.”
Aww, guys! Keeeeep singing! Oh, wait, isn’t that another popular talent series?
