When Lady Gaga rocked up to the red carpet wearing a stonking white gown with maje embroidery, we though, ‘WHAT ARE THOSE GLOVES’. Because they were a bit nuts. Now we’ve found out they were, ahem, HAND DYED by some poor person we say they’re really nuts. Our focus was so centred on Gaga’s marigolds we barely glanced at the rest of her get-up and so missed what is possibly the most intricate frock at the Oscars.

“I will never forget tonight. #Oscars thank you Azzedine Alaia for this stunning piece. It took 1600 hrs of embroidery and 25 people in Paris, he's never before made a dress for the Oscars. What an honor. The gloves were hand dyed Crimson, baby orchid blooms hand painted in my hair and killer pear shaped diamonds by Lorraine Schwartz.”
Er, say WHAT. Well that does it. We refuse to wear anything that hasn’t had the hands of at least 100 people stitching it. Hear that, mum? And don’t even think about tying our hair up with a bobble…
