Coronation Street star Hayley Tamaddon is set to leave the show as part of a dramatic storyline playing out over the soap's upcoming week of live episodes.
Hayler, who has played Andrea Beckett for the last 18 months, will be central to one of the big plots coming to life during the live week - although it doesn't look like her character will be killed off as TV bosses are keeping the door open for a possible return in the future.
She'll start filming her exit storyline in July and will continue being in the show until September, when the live episode airs as part of Corrie's 60th anniversary - much like EastEnders did this year with their 30th birthday celebrations.
Hayley said: “I came into Corrie for three months and have stayed for two years! I will be so sad to leave, I have had the best two years of my life here, it really is one big family.
"Everyone looks out for each other and I’ve made some incredible friends," she continued.
"I am excited about my exit storyline and the fact that it is part of the live episode. Corrie has given me a great platform to hopefully go on to work on other dramas but I’d never rule out a return to Weatherfield as I love it so much."
