Next week in Emmerdale, Jacob Gallagher's lies about his relationship with Liv Flaherty begin to unravel, landing both him and Maya Stepney in a tricky situation.
Leanne Cavanagh and Noah Dingle's mischief making takes a turn for the sinister when they rope in Amelia Spencer and break into Dale Head. Daz Eden is still basking in the glory of his new job, but feels as though things might be going in a rather odd direction with new boss Trish, and Brenda Walker and Bob Hope are back on good terms.

Increasingly aware of Jacob's feelings for her, Maya follows. She sits down with him and gently asks Jacob if he'd lied about Liv to try and make her jealous. Of course, he had, and he admits the truth.

Flattered by his confession, and caught up in the moment, Maya kisses Jacob. It lasts only a few seconds before she pulls away, horrified by what she's initiated, and insists that nobody is ever to find out about the kiss.

None the wiser, David is shocked when Maya instigates moving out, and Jacob is wracked with guilt when he sees how upset his dad is. He tells Maya that David deserves the truth – but will they really come clean?

The twins fall ill, and Brenda is pleased to have an excuse to skip her date with Doug. When Bob offers to help out, it's clear that he is enjoying being back in the fold.

Leanne and Noah are causing trouble in the village, flooding the school by shoving towels down the loos and convincing Amelia to help them release the animals from the vets. Vanessa suspects Noah, and Daz warns him to stay away from Leanne.

But it's not just small scale pranks they're pulling. Leanne and Noah break into Dale Head and find the keys to Daz's new car. Manipulating Amelia into joining them, all three are in the car when Leanne, driving, loses control, and the swerve dangerously. In a field, the car has come to a stop and there's a long silence as a shocked Leanna, Noah and Amelia process what just happened. They abandon the car...

In the back of a taxi, a drunken Daz misreads the situation and goes in to kiss Trish. Horrified, Trish tells Daz she's married. Feeling awkward, Daz gets out of the taxi to walk home.

But Noah has left his phone in the car, and rings, startling Daz who becomes distracted and hits something with his car. He's terrified as he looks in his rear-view mirror. When he emerges from his car, he realises someone's been run over and flees from the scene.

Leyla offers to be their getaway driver – but when she finds out that Clive's real plan is to stitch Frank up and leave the country, she's torn. Will her conscience lose her the man she loves?
Still unhappy with her dad's relationship with Bernice Blackstock, Leanna Cavanagh and Gabby Thomas plot to break the couple up. Gabby drops into conversation that Bernice is looking for commitment, leaving Liam Cavanagh feeling slightly uneasy. Showing up later to the Woolpack in a ridiculous ball gown, it dawns on Bernice that she's been stitched up by the girls. Angry and upset, she confronts Leanne and Gabby.
As Marlon Dingle and April Windsor decorate the Christmas tree, an over-excitable April begins to talk about falling in love. The conversation sparks an idea in Marlon's head and he surprises a returning Jessie with fairy lights spelling out "I love you".
The gesture throws Jessie Grant and she leaves in a rush. Marlon is crestfallen, but later Jessie explains she never really moved on from her first husband and Marlon agrees to help scatter his ashes in order to find closure. Will Jessie reciprocate Marlon's gesture by telling him "I love you" too?
