13 Reasons Why and Riverdale are pretty much alllll we’re talking about right now, and an announcement about the latter show has huge implications for the former.
Though the first series of 13 Reasons Why doesn’t seem to leave itself open to a second series and has already covered all the contents of the book it’s based on, rumours have been rife that there will be a new season of the show.
And this latest one has got us very excited.
A report by TVLine states that 13 Reasons Why is “a lock to get a Season 2 pickup”, and here’s why.
Most of you will be aware that FITLORD Ross Butler (we love him) stars in both shows (he plays Reggie in Riverdale and Zach in 13 Reasons Why), but the creator of Riverdale, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, told the publication that Reggie will be recast in its second season because Ross Butler is apparently unavailable.
“We love what Ross did with the role of Reggie [this season], but because of his commitments to other projects, we couldn’t use him nearly as much as we would have liked,” he said.
“[Next season], we want more Reggie on our show—he’s Archie’s rival!—and because Ross is unavailable to come back to Riverdale, we’re looking for a new Reggie.”
COULD THIS ‘OTHER PROJECT’ BE A SECOND SEASON OF 13 REASONS WHY? We REALLY hope so.
This comes after Netflix defended the show against controversy surrounding its depction of suicide and mental health.
