Michael Clifford has opened up to his fans while live on stage with 5SOS – revealing he’s suffered and is still dealing with mental health problems.

The guitarist’s comments have been praised by fans while campaigner’s hope his comments will encourage young people to reach out for help if they’re suffering.

Michael, 19, made the speech during a gig – while on the band’s Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour – and revealed he’d been seeing a therapist during the band’s brief hiatus.

“I was fixing some problems with my mental health,” he explained. “I just saw a therapist real quick on the break we had.”

Fans in the crowd cheered his honesty and just hours after his revelation #WeLoveYouMichael was trending worldwide. Michael’s bandmates stood quietly as he spoke to the crowd and launched into another song as soon as he gave them the cue.
