On the eve of New York Fashion Week P!nk will appear in a 90-foot PETA billboard in Times Square for the* Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur* campaign.

The 90-foot-wide billboard will be erected in NYC's busy, iconic advertising district this evening, just before fashion week kicks off on February 12.

The singer said: "I would like to say I've always been fur-free."

"Unfortunately, I went through a selfish phase and wore fur on a couple of occasions. But I wised up and now boycott fur completely. I wish everyone was forced to learn the horrors that these animals go through for fashion trends. I hope fur-wearers get bitten in the ass by the same kind of animal they wear on their back."

One Twitter user backed P!nk's campaign when he tweeted an image of a horse and carriage in Times Square:

This Twitter user had a thing or two to say about animal rights.

On a previouse occasion P!nk and Ricky Gervais lent their voices for a video for PETA UK targeting animal skins, but this is the first time the 35-year-old has stripped off her clothes for the cause.

The photo, by Ruven Afanador, is the latest in PETA US’ series. A similar series by PETA UK has featured Eva Mendes, Alexandra Burke and Lucy Watson.

PETA and their international affiliates have made a major push over the years to expose cruelty to animals who are caged, beaten, electrocuted and skinned for leather, wool, exotic skins, fur and angora.
