Since Marnie Simpson and Lewis Bloor got together during Celebrity Big Brother last summer (great series), they’ve been subject to a whole lot of speculation about whether or not they’re for real.

A load of people at the time branded them a showmance, but we had hope - we just get really excited by cross-reality show relationships, tbh.

They’ve since been shutting down the haterz by remaining together, posting loved up naked pictures etc etc, but Marnie’s ex Aaron Chalmers recently went on a bit of a Twitter rant reiterating the showmance claim.

(Which is prob fair cos she’d just dissed his relationship with Lauren Pope. Plus he’s her ex).

He tweeted (then deleted): “So apparently it’s WEIRD that me and Lauren are dating, even though we met back in May and have been texting ever since well before CBB.”

“What’s WEIRD is your set up showmance only lasted 6 months which everyone could see straight through, btw.”

heatworld caught up with Aaron to question him about it all, and he had a pretty reasonable explanation.

“Do you know what it is? When me and Marnie argue we both just say things to hurt each other. I did say it just cos I knew it’d hurt her but the fact they’re still together now obviously shows it wasn’t for the show,” he told us.

“But the only reason I did say that was because I was trying to make her angry and upset and it just works, but obviously I regretted it and I did take the tweet down because I do care about Marnie and I don’t wanna upset her. But at the time I was angry and that’s why I tweeted it.”

And when we asked him whether or not they’ll last, he said: “I’ve never even met Lewis so I don’t really know. And she seems to be always with him so if that’s the case then good luck to them.”

He also opened up about missing her, telling us: "When we’re getting on we have a laugh, we always have a laugh, like, we’re quite close, but like I say she’s... with Lewis so I’ve just gotta respect that. Obviously, when we come to Geordie Shore we’ll speak again, we’ll have a chat and have a laugh like we always do.

Aaron will enter Ex On The Beach tonight, and when we pressed him for spoilers about the show, he said: “I’ll just tell you something, I don’t come out of the water.”
