Peter Crouch really should remember the golden rule of marriage: always side with your wife – and your wife’s friends. After long-time friend of Abbey Clancy’s, Denise Van Outen, split with fiancé Eddie Boxshall, it transpires Pete has been providing a shoulder for Eddie to cry on, and Abbey isn’t happy about it.
“Abbey is really annoyed that Peter has had to get involved in his mate Eddie’s mess,” a source close to the 36-year-old model tells heat.
“She feels sensitive as they’ve had their own issues in their marriage and now it feels as though Peter is siding with a man who she believes hasn’t been completely candid with his partner – and that’s a terrible look for them as a couple. She’s told Peter he needs to think more carefully about these things and take into consideration how it affects her in the public eye.”
The Crouches hit the headlines last year when Abbey admitted their marriage had gone through a tough time before the birth of their fourth child, and that they'd "hated each other" for a while.
Eddie and Denise secretly split a couple of months ago after eight years, and it has been reported that Eddie had been having phone sex and going on dates with other women – but now wants his fiancée back. Footballer Pete, 40, became friends with 47-year-old Eddie through Abbey and Denise, and Eddie is said to have asked Pete for advice following his messy break up.
