AC/DC’s drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with trying to arrange a hitman to murder two people.

The 60-year-old star appeared in Tauranga District Court, New Zealand before being released on bail. He was charged with attempting to procure a murder and possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

His bail conditions require that he has no contact with the other individuals involved in the murder plot. It’s thought that Rudd will make a second appearance in court on November 27, although legal officials think this could change.

The band have yet to post an official comment. However, the band’s former manager, Michael Browning, told Daily Mail Australia it was a "bit of a shock, but there you go".
