Actor Warren Clarke dies aged 67 after short illness

British actor and star of BBC drama Dalziel And Pascoe Warren Clarke has died today at the age of 67 following a short mystery illness, his agent has confirmed.

The character actor had one of the most recognisable faces in the industry, having appeared in Hollywood films like A Clockwork Orange as well as ITV soap opera Coronation Street.

His agency, Independent Talent Group, released a statement earlier today, which read: "The actor Warren Clarke died peacefully in his sleep on November 12 2014, after a short illness.

"He will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones. At this time we ask that you respect their privacy in their time of grief."
