Adam Rickitt marries fiancee Katy Fawcett: “I am complete”

Ever since he repeatedly stripped off in the late ‘90s to reveal his rippling six-pack, we’ve had a soft spot for Adam Rickitt.

So, while a tiny part of our teenage selves thought we were in with a chance of marrying the actor and singer, we’re pleased he's now hitched to Good Morning Britain news correspondent Katy Fawcett.

The former Coronation Street actor, who briefly returned to the world of pop this year on The Big Reunion with boyband 5th Story, tweeted his happiness after the couple got married on Saturday.

He wrote: “I am complete.”

It seems Adam upheld tradition and didn’t see his bride on the morning of his wedding as he also posted a message to express his excitement earlier in the day.

He tweeted: “Happiest day of my life @KatyFawITV... can’t wait to see you.”

Adam spoke of his happiness at meeting Katy earlier this year, admitting he’d never felt truly content before she was part of his life.

He told the Daily Mirror: “Meeting Katy made me realise I’ve never been truly happy before.

“Before her, I was only ever wasting time trying to make others happy.

“I was sent to boarding school at seven and was determined to please people, so I made the first team in rugby and got straight As.

“Even on Corrie, it was about keeping the people at ITV happy.

“I said yes to all the topless shoots, TV appearances and interviews because I wanted to please people. But I was completely miserable.”

Glad you're happy now, Adam. Congratulations, guys!
