And no, it wasn’t because he got high...

Remember Afroman? That guy who had, like, one good song back in the mid ‘00s *(*Because I Got High) and was then basically perceived to be perpetually high ever since?

Well, he became pretty much irrelevant until he hit headlines back in February for smacking a female fan in the face. However, the 41-year-old rapper WON’T go to prison for the assault - instead, he's been ordered to complete anger management classes and drug tests as part of his probation.

Afroman punched ex-fan Haley Byrd at a Biloxi concert after she invaded the stage. She is thought to have suffered a concussion from the incident and plans to sue the venue’s promoters.

A video of the attack went viral and afterwards Afroman - real name Joseph Foreman - apologised for the attack on his Facebook page.

At the time, he wrote: "I wanna apologise for my actions. I love my fans, I try to get there early these days to meet and greet them.

"It was an early show – I usually play at night after I've had my dinner, I medicate … I had to walk, like, half a mile to get to the place," he went on.

Afroman then blamed a heckler who was "yelling obscenities from the side of the stage" before turning his attention to two women who got up there next to him.

"I asked them to leave, I was trying to keep rapping. One girl left, I thought both of them had left, but the guy was still over there hollering from the side of the stage," he continued.

"When people get on stage, you don't really know what they're doing. You don't know what's going to happen next. It was wrong," he added.

Hmm, here’s some advice Afroman: maybe don’t punch anyone, whether it’s a man or a woman? Yep, even if they come on your stage. That’s all. End of advice.
