Alan Rickman got SECRETLY MARRIED at the age of 69

Man with a voice that sounds like a sharp stick being dragged through treacle Alan Rickman has gone and got married in total secrecy to his childhood sweetheart - 50 YEARS after they first got together.

The 69-year-old* Harry Potter* actor revealed today that he and Rima Horton, who have been together since he was 19 and she 18, got hitched in New York earlier this year in a super-secret ceremony.

Speaking to German newspaper Bild about the key to successful relationships, Alan said: "We are married. Just recently. It was great, because no one was there. After the wedding in New York we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and ate lunch."

He bought Rima a wedding ring for the princely sum of 190 Euros (£136) but admitted that "she never wears it".

In the interview, Al also revealed a great Potter fact: when he was filming as Professor Snape alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, because the teens were still considered underage, there were certain child labour law restrictions about their work.

"In the first film, if anybody ever wants to look, of course you've got the problem of kids who can only work a certain number of hours. Sometimes there were 300 children on set, and at certain points they all had to go off and do some schoolwork," Alan said, admitting that a lot of the shots of the three main characters had to be done with short adult actors wearing wigs.
