Alexandra Burke has apologised to her fans after being called out for wearing a coat with a fur-trimmed hood.
She took to Twitter to tell her followers she would never wear the coat again after many flocked to social media to criticise her choice of jacket while posing for pictures with fans.
"I’ve just learned the sad truth of how a coat I wore recently was made,” she wrote.
“I am an animal lover, as most of you will know I have 4 dogs.
"I should have asked how it was manufactured and now I know, I will never wear it again. I am really sorry for any hurt or upset I have caused xx."
Fans were particularly upset with Alexandra wearing fur as she previously posed naked for a PETA anti-fur campaign.
During the campaign back in 2013, Alexandra spoke out about fur farms.
"When I found out what happens to animals on fur farms my heart just sank,” she revealed according to The Sun.
"Anyone thinking about buying or wearing fur should watch PETA’s videos of animals suffering on fur farms - after seeing them, I can’t imagine anyone would want to be caught dead in fur."
