Remember Alyssa Milano, the actress that was in Charmed, Melrose Place and Mistresses? She's got serious beef with Heathrow Airport. Because they confiscated her breast milk.
Apparently, 10 oz. of her own pre-expressed breast milk was taken from her as she passed through security - because, as many mothers on holiday know, Heathrow only permits that passengers travelling with a baby or infant to “carry a reasonable amount” of breast milk through security.
The actress, who is a mother to son Milo Thomas, 3, and 7-month-old daughter Elizabella Dylan, was not happy with the decision, and tweeted about it:
"@HeathrowAirport just took my pumped breast milk away. 10 ounces. Gone. Not okay" she tweeted.
"They said they would let the pumped milk through if I had the baby with me. Why would I need to pump if I had the baby with me???? .@HeathrowAirport Why can you test my toiletries to make sure they are safe but you have to throw away my breast milk?"
Heathrow responded to her tweets:
But Alyssa then released a statement about the breast milk drama-rama.
"Breastfeeding my children has been one of the greatest joys of my life" she said.
"Every ounce of milk I’m able to produce for my child is nothing short of a miracle and to watch that milk be thrown away without any regard for my baby, was heartbreaking,” she added.
Milano ended with saying she knew the airport was "following orders to keep us all safe", but hoped the policy received a "thoughtful reconsideration."
