Amanda Bynes has reportedly been living off gift cards and could have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
TMZ reported that the star had been using gift cards to pay for meals, while roaming around Hollywood. The troubled star explained her situation in a tweet from her secretive Twitter account, which goes under the name of @PersianLa27.
Amanda, who was recently released from psychiatric care, is thought to have been getting the cards from her parents, although she still doesn’t have access to her own money.
Posting from her main Twitter account, she said:
“I’m so mad at my parents. > >
“They are with holding my belongings and money from me so I don't have new clothes or enough money to rent an apartment. > >
“So until I get a different conservator ill look terrible because I don't have enough to get new clothes or anything I need. > >
“We aren't speaking.”
Recent reports have suggested that Amanda has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. As the star tweeted in the early hours of Tuesday: “I was diagnosed bi - polar and manic depressive so I'm on medication and I'm seeing my psychologist and pyshchiatrist weekly so I'm fine
However, she later posted: “I was at a friends apartment last night and one of my friends tweeted my phone , sorry guys !”. So it’s unclear whether the bipolar tweet was genuine.
The ex-Disney star has had a troubled few years. She was charged with a hit-and-run in 2012, hospitalised for psychiatric treatment in 2013 and then put on probation after a DUI this year.
Things had been looking up when she enrolled into the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles early in 2014, however she dropped out in the summer.
