Amanda Holden slams Cheryl Fernendez-Versini for saying body shaming should be illegal: “She wouldn’t be on the panel if it wasn’t for the papers”

It's back again and once again we're talking about Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's weight.

This time it's spread to Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, who has hit back at Cheryl Fernandez-Versini after she said body shaming should be made illegal.

Amanda told the *MailOnline: *"It's a little stupid to say it should be illegal.

"Because where does it end? When you're in the public eye, you have to take the good with the bad."

Speaking on Cheryl's position as X Factor judge, Amanda continued: "Like it or not, she wouldn't be on the panel if it wasn't for the papers. You can't complain. I think she's gorgeous anyway."

The 44-year-old's comments come after Cheryl gave an interview to ES Magazine at the start of September about body-shaming.

Claiming body shaming "has to stop" Cheryl told the mag: “It’s bullshit. Something has to be done, changed, even if it’s done in law,” she added.

And just three weeks after posting a rant about ‘skinny-shaming’ on Instagram, Cheryl spoke AGAIN this week about ‘double-standards’ in beauty – and she reckons it’s “crazy” that people can slam thin women in a way that is seen as unacceptable when directed at larger women.

“It’s crazy double standards. You’d never be allowed to say to somebody, ‘Oh, you look a bit fat’,” she argued.

“And being overweight is unhealthy – it’s actually a bad message to tell someone who is obese that they look ‘curvy’ or ‘great’.

“But you know what? After this length of time, there’s nothing I can hear about myself that I haven’t already heard.”
