Amanda Peterson has been found dead at her family home in Greeley, Colorado, aged 43. The US actress found fame in the 80s after landing the leading role of Cindy Mancini in the comedy film Can’t Buy Me Love when she was just 16-years-old.

Amanda quickly became a teenage sensation but lived out of the spotlight and appeared in a handful of lesser-known roles in the years that followed.

TMZ reported the sad news of her death late last night and although the cause of death is unknown, her father is claimed to have told the publication: “She had some illness and a sleep apnoea problem that may have contributed”.

Amanda leaves behind her husband and two children.
