For a lot of people Mean Girls is a film that still pretty much rules all others. The girl-com with its dark humour and brilliant one-liners still resonates but for one of the main stars it meant she had to work extra hard to prove herself.
Amanda Seyfried played Karen, the slightly mean and very dumb one of the trio of ‘plastics’, and has recently revealed she was pigeonholed because if it.
‘I was totally pigeonholed as the dumb blonde after 'Mean Girls'. But it's different now. And 'Mean Girls' was amazing for me, it gave me so much. I was 18, I had no clue what to do with my life; it was either mean girls or college, so it gave me direction.’
Which can only mean she did such an incred job at playing dumb that’s all people wanted to offer her, right?
Speaking to Digital Spy, Seyfried also revealed her fave line from the 10-year-old film…
‘”If you’re from Africa why are you white?” is the best line ever!’
Luckily for anyone who actually watches films Amanda found a way to convince the right people in Hollywood she had more to give than Karen 2.0. Since doing Mean Girls the now 29-year-old has had roles in films such as Les Miserables, Lovelace and Mamma Mia.
