Amanda Seyfield has landed herself a role in the upcoming revival of cult classic Twin Peaks.

Reports say she will appear in several episodes in a major role, but who she will play and what she’ll be getting up to is still a mystery.

Amanda – who rose to fame thanks to her unforgettable roles in films such as Mean Girls, Mamma Mia, and Dear John - is the first new cast member to be announced.

  • Twin Peaks* was first aired in 1990, and is based around the story of an investigation into the murder of Laura Palmer (played by Sheryl Lee) carried out by FBI team headed by Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan).

Kyle is set to take up his old role in the new series, and many familiar faces are due to make a comeback.

The show ran for two seasons up until 1991, and in 1992 was followed up with a feature film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.

The announcement that they would be making a third came earlier this year, much to delight of the show’s cult following.

The new season is said to be hopefully hitting screens in 2016, and is going to be an actual sequel of the story – not a remake.

Now, call us too used to the Netflix life, but that's one long wait for a new season
