heat caught up with Amber Davies to discuss her lit AF new Motel Rocks line, Amber After Dark, life post-Love Island, and relationships with her fellow contestants.
Hey Amber! Tell us about the line
I love it. I love Motel’s clothes, they’re amazing, but it’s much more what I would wear on a daily basis, or to a red carpet event. It’s opening it up a bit so people can have a bit more of an option for different occasions.
What’s your favourite piece?
I’ve got a leather skirt with a bit of an open leg which is really different for them. The leather jacket is all embroidered, I have a big thing for leather jackets, I wear them pretty much every day. And I’ve got things like long trousers with a little top with a diamante choker, just like really classy things. And on the other side of the spectrum I’ve got new sequin pieces, a bit more expensive, party season’s coming up. We cover everything.
What's it been like since leaving the villa?
It’s still surreal, I still pinch myself everyday. It’s amazing and as long as you work hard and keep your feet on the ground the world’s your oyster. I was saying before I’m pleasantly surprised at all the girl power that is happening, there isn’t much hate which is great – I’m shocked.
**Who are you still in touch with from Love Island? **
On social media everyone is in touch. Everyone’s really supportive. But day to day it’s like Liv and Montana, phone call a day to them, voice notes 24/7.
And what do you think about Dom and Jess getting married?
I’m happy for them, they seem happy, they just moved in together. If that’s what they want to do then do it.
Will you and Kem get married?
Yeah, I’m not the type of person to be in a relationship with someone to waste time. I’ve never met anyone that is so family-orientated and loyal, it’s like the way he’s been brought up. It’s very rare to find that these days, and he has my best interests at heart so you don’t want to let someone go like that. If marriage is there it will happen, but not for a long time.
How are Liv and Chris at the moment?
Good yeah they’re fine. Obviously I don’t even read the media anymore. People argue, me and Kem argue, it’s normal. But unfortunately it’s headlines for them. They’re just as strong as anyone.
Did you see the thing about Katie Price and Chris tweeting messages from her?
Yes I did.
Did Chris say anything about that to you?
No he never say anything about it to me and he never say anything about it to Kem either. That was probably personal between Chris and Liv.
What did you think about it all?
I couldn’t believe it. I don’t even know what to say about that. I still am speechless, I couldn’t even tell you what’s right or what’s wrong, who is telling the truth and who is telling lies! It’s all just been blown out of proportion.
And what do you think of Jonny and Stephanie Pratt?
I love it, I was looking on Jonny’s Instagram and they’re goals. He posted a picture saying “amazing holiday with the only girl that likes me.” I feel so sorry for him! I love it. Jonny is a genuine person. She’s beautiful, she’s gorgeous.
Have you heard much from Camilla and Jamie?
I was just texting Camilla on the way here, she congratulated me on the launch and she apologised that she couldn’t be here because she has an event. Jamie not so much, I follow their relationship and see that they’re OK. Me and Camilla just organised we’re going to go for a nice brunch.
