Along with Cheryl and Liam Payne and Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear, Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson and TOWIE’s Chris Clark are on our list of unexpected celeb romances of the decade.
But despite some loved-up selfies and a Little Mix reference on TOWIE, the pair split up and Chris got back with his girlfriend Amber Dowding.
heat caught up with Amber to get all the goss about their relationship, as well as how things are going with Chris.
heat: How are things – better than last time?
Amber: Really good! We had that time apart and we both did our own thing and didn’t have contact for eight months – it was the best thing that could happen.
h: Did you think of him during that time?
A: Not really at the beginning, because it was my decision and I still had everything going on with my mum. But towards the end – I’d been seeing other people and I just thought, do you know what? He is a really good guy.
h: What actually brought you back together?
It was actually me being unwell – it’s an enlightening process – you never know what’s going to happen.
h: Did it make him realise what he was missing?
A: Yeah, I think so – when you see someone you care about not well, it makes you realise.
h: Him dating Jesy Nelson – did you feel jealous?
A: No I wasn’t jealous, it was just one of those things. When you see an ex-partner with someone else, regardless of who, you’re going to feel weird – think, ‘oh they’ve moved on’ – but I wasn’t jealous.
h: Did it put him more in your mind?
A: Yeah, but I wasn’t losing sleep over it.
h: He said he wasn’t using her, but a lot of her fans said he was. Did you feel sorry for her?
A: No because Chris isn’t that sort of person, he’s so genuine and very honest about how he feels. He’s a very honest person. I think it was her that instigated the first move anyway.
h: Were you seeing anyone during the break-up?
A: Yeah, I saw a few people, but no one who I was in a proper relationship with.
h: Did Chris get jealous?
A: I think he would have found out, but we didn’t have contact – we kind of just lived our lives, and now we’ve moved on from it.
