Tragic singer Amy Winehouse thought she was pregnant before she died, her father has said.

Talking to Channel Seven’s Weekend Sunrise show in Australia, Mitch Winehouse said: "She was with Reg, they were going to get married.

"I shouldn't tell you this but she thought she was pregnant at some stage.

"To give the impression that she was on her own is frankly criminal."

The late singer’s father Mitch Winehouse says this new revelation shows his daughter was not a sad loner, despite the depiction in a recent biopic.

Amy’s dad, who has been critical of the new Amy film made by director Asif Kapadia, said he is working with her former fiance on a new documentary.

Amy who shot to fame with songs such as Rehab and Back to Black died of alcohol poisoning at her London home on July 23, 2011, at the age of twenty-seven.
