Notorious grumpster Andy Murray has got himself engaged to long-term girlfriend Kim Sears NINE years after first asking her out. YAY.
The Scottish tennis champion popped the question recently – although his reps refuse to say where, when or how – and presumably even managed to crack a smile at the happy news.
In January this year, Andy had to deny rumours he was going to propose to Kim after he took part in a Twitter Q&A in which he tweeted: "We're getting married just after Wimbledon, should be a great day."
After that tweet went viral he had to talk everyone down from their hat-buying excitement, following it up with: "3 things.. I don't smoke grass, I'm not getting married(yet) and I don't want to kill rafael Nadal.."
There was more speculation the pair of them were getting married back in June; betting was even suspended at William Hill after loads of punters put money on Andy proposing at Wimbledon.
The couple first met in 2006 at a dinner party in South Africa (casual), and moved in together three years later. They hit a blip just two months after that and separated for seven months before realising they should be together. N'aww!
Massive congratulations, Andy and Kim – can't wait to see Andy in a top hat and tails.
