Despite Annie Kilner and Kyle Walker encountering more than their fair share of bumps in their marriages over the years, they’ve always managed to patch things up. And now, heat can reveal Kyle is keen to get his wife to agree to a vow renewal ceremony.
In January 2024, the footballer was revealed to have fathered a second child with influencer Lauryn Goodman, leaving his marriage hanging in the balance – especially after Annie served Kyle with divorce papers in October. The couple surprised everyone when they spent Christmas together as a family, and Annie was photographed with her ring back on. But scrutiny around the state of their relationship intensified again last week, when the WAG chose to party with friends rather than fly out to Italy with Kyle for his AC Milan transfer. And now an insider tells heat that, while things remain incredibly uncertain between Annie, 32, and Kyle, 34 – who have sons Roman, 13, Riaan, nine, Reign, six, and nine-month-old Rezon together – Kyle is pushing her to renew their vows.
Explaining that Annie is still planning to move the family to Italy now that Kyle’s left Manchester City, our insider says, ‘Although things are pretty tense between them, they both see this move as a chance to save their marriage for the sake of their boys. Annie is going to stay in Cheshire until they have sorted out schools and somewhere to live, but she will be flying out with the kids for some matches.’
The source adds that it’s Kyle who is keenest to walk down the aisle again, saying, ‘He has made it clear he is desperate for them to get back together and renew their vows, which is why he’s been wearing his wedding ring during all his press conferences in Italy.’
As well as having four sons with his wife, Kyle is also dad to Kairo, four, following a brief fling with Lauryn, 34, while he was on a break from Annie, and Kinara, 17 months.
When Lauryn dropped her bombshell last year, it caused a media storm, as it coincided with Annie’s fourth pregnancy. Kyle was forced to publicly apologise to his childhood sweetheart, but only after Annie kicked him out of their Cheshire home. They reconciled, before Annie filed for divorce late last year. Things have remained murky ever since, with Annie being seen with and without her ring. However, she was snapped not wearing it last week amid reports she was ‘sick and tired’ of dropping everything for her husband. She instead spent the weekend Kyle moved to Italy celebrating her friend’s 40th.
As heat has reported, Annie had decided she and the boys would be by Kyle’s side as he finishes his career abroad, largely to ‘escape Lauryn, as well as work on their marriage’. And, we’re told, that while their wedding in 2021 was a low-key occasion, any vow renewal will be a different story.
‘He has promised Annie if they do it again, she can have whatever she wants and that he’ll give her the wedding she always dreamed of,’ our source says.
‘He will stop at nothing to win her back and prove that he can be the husband she deserves. They were in a really good place after Christmas, but Annie feels like the Lauryn situation will always be a shadow over them. She needs Kyle to prove he won’t be taken in by her again. While Annie is in no mood to think about getting romantic with Kyle again, she does want to work things out because they have four children together.’
Lauryn has frequently hit out at Kyle’s lack of involvement in her children’s lives, but revealed in an interview before Christmas that she hoped they could ‘build bridges’, adding, ‘I’m hopeful their dad will come back to them and continue to build his relationship with them.’ It has been reported that the Celebs Go Dating star was eyeing up a move abroad, and was even reportedly thinking about following Kyle to Italy.
Now, a source close to Lauryn says that if Annie and Kyle do make another go of things, Lauryn is just hoping he’ll stay faithful. ‘She doesn’t have any strong feelings about Kyle wanting to renew his vows. The way she sees it is he broke his vows the first time, so she hopes he respects them a second time round,’ we’re told.
The source continues, ‘Lauryn’s main focus is her children – she doesn’t want to waste her energy thinking about Kyle. He’s taken up enough of her time and she isn’t prepared give him any more. This year is a fresh start for her and her family – she’s looking forward to it being positive and drama-free.’
