Britain's Got Talent producers have apparently axed a scene in which Ant McPartlin drives a Jaguar with a Union Jack painted on it, believing it to be 'inappropriate' after his drink driving guilty plea.

The scene was said to be filmed just five days prior to his arrest, and shows Ant and Dec driving around Richmond Park (around a mile from where the accident took place).

A source told The Sun: "Bosses have been forced to drop the footage. It would have been inappropriate and insensitive."

Ant was charged £86,000 and handed a 20 month driving ban after pleading guilty to one count of drink driving at Wimbledon Magistrates Court last week.

The mother of the four-year-old girl injured after Ant McPartlin drove into their car recently spoke out and wished him well after the guilty plea.

Shilpa Dandekar was with her husband and daughter when they were involved in the crash.

At the time, Faheem Dandekar, the daughter’s father, hit out at Ant – saying he could have put his daughter in a wheelchair.

But Shilpa has now spoken out in support of Ant, telling OK!: "Of course, concern for my family’s safety was always paramount, which I’m sure he considered when addressing the whole matter to the public.

"I feel for what he’s going through and hope he pulls through."
