Ant McPartlin was reportedly twice the legal drink-drive limit when he was arrested after his involvement in a crash in south London last month.

The Mirror reports that his breathalyser read 75mcg of alcohol per 100ml (the legal limit is 35mcg).

Ant was arrested in Richmond on March 18 after his involvement in a collision with two other cars.

He was due to appear in court on Wednesday but the hearing was postponed for two weeks.

After his arrest, ITV released a statement saying: "ITV has taken a joint decision with Ant and Dec’s team not to broadcast Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.

"We will be reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series (March 31 and April 7) which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment. We very much hope that he gets the help that he needs."

Dec Donnelly subsequently wrote on Twitter: "Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.

"We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that.

The final of Saturday Night Takeaway, hosted by Dec, is on tonight at 7pm.
