Ariana Grande issues bizarre non-apology for licking donuts and basically blames it on the obesity crisis

Ariana Grande has been a bit of a dick this week, let’s face it. In fact, if you have a look for the dictionary definition of the word ‘hypocrite’, you’ll see her huge ponytailed face underneath it.

Why? Because the 22-year-old singer got caught on security cam licking a load of donuts in a bakery and then tried to blame it on the US obesity crisis.

Yup. After TMZ released the footage of Ariana and her new boyfriend Ricky Alvarez spitting and licking a tray of display donuts, and then exclaiming “I hate Americans! I hate America!”, Ariana issued a weird non-apology about her brattish behaviour.

“I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I’ve always made it clear that I love my country,” she said.

“What I said in a private moment with my friend Ryann, who was buying the donuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words.”

Still no mention of you licking those donuts though, Ariana…

“As an advocate for healthy eating, food is very important to me and I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole,” she went on, as if she’d never even set foot in a donut shop and would be HORRIFIED by the very prospect.

“The fact that the United States has one of the highest child obesity rates in the world frustrates me. We need to do more to educate ourselves and our children about the dangers of overeating and the poison that we put into our bodies.”

Just going to stop you there, Ariana, because YOU STILL HAVEN’T SAID SORRY TO THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE DONUTS YOU SPAT ON, OR THE CUSTOMERS WHO MIGHT’VE BOUGHT THEM AFTER YOU’D PUT YOUR MOUTH GOO ALL OVER THEM.

She went on: “I should have known better in how I expressed myself, and with my new responsibility to others as a public figure I will strive to be better.”

Yeah, brilliant. Maybe you could strive not to put your mouth in or around any other pastries unless you’re definitely going to eat them, too?
