Ariana Grande hasn't exactly shied away from the fact that she is a massive fan of actor Jim Carrey, who has starred in films such as The Truman Show, and Yes Man. She even had a tattoo inspired by him in June this year! However now, the pop star has had the chance to not only meet her idol, but work with him.

Ariana worked briefly on the American TV show Kidding, a comedy-drama starring Jim Carrey alongside, Frank Langella, and Judy Greer. The show started late last year and has been very successful, even receiving a number of Golden Globe Awards earlier this year.

Although it's not clear yet what role Ariana will be playing in the series, she mentions in her caption, 'i get to make a tiny appearance on the hilarious and deeply moving show Kidding next season. this was a DREAM of an experience.' [sic]

The 'thank u, next' pop star also called meeting Jim, 'the most special experience', explaining that, 'nothing is crazier than getting to work with and spend time with someone whom you’ve idolized and adored since before you could speak.' [sic]

The post, which has been liked more than 4 million times in just 14 hours, attracted thousands of comments, including one from Ariana's mum, Joan. She responded saying, 'I am so touched and moved by this experience, not only because you got the chance to work with one of your dearest idols, it is also because it turned out even more beautifully than I could have wished for my daughter... crying over this!! xo'.

Of course this isn't the first time that Ariana has acted, back in 2008 she starred as Cat Valentine in the hit show VICTORiOUS.

The pop star has been a fan of Jim's for many years, and just earlier this year she had a tattoo which was inspired by him. Ariana revealed details of a new tattoo that was a quote from The Truman Show, a film Jim Carrey starred in back in 1998.

Written in a typewriter font the quote says, 'In case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening and good night!'

Back in the world of music, and Ariana is about to drop her new single 'Boyfriend', which she has been teasing online recently. The new song will be released on Friday 2nd August.
