The Great British Bake Off winner, Candice Brown, has revealed to her fans that she got married earlier this week! The surprise wedding took place at an idyllic French chateau last Saturday, when Candice and her partner of six years Liam Macaulay, tied the knot. Their beautiful ceremony comes almost a year after Liam's surprise proposal.

Along with friends and family, special guests on the special day included Matt Evers, who was Candice's skating partner on Dancing on Ice, and the couple's two dogs, called Dennis and Sybil, who Candice has previously referred to as her "babies".

Whilst the couple had previously announced they would be getting married this year, they hadn't publicly set a date. Back in February the Bake Off winner tweeted a photo of the couple saying, 'We get married this year ❤️'.

Then, last night (24th September), Candice confirmed to her followers that the couple had tied the knot tweeting, 'Got married didn’t we ❤️💙'.

Messages of congratulations have been coming in for the couple, including one from former Dancing on Ice contestant Hayley Tamaddon, who said, 'Congrats my lovely! Xxx' and fellow Bake Off contestant Nancy Birtwhistle who said, 'Huge congratulations Candice ♥️'.

Whilst the couple have yet to post their own photos of the special day, Hello! magazine have posted a photo of the couple with Candice wearing a beautiful, long-sleeved wedding dress, sitting next to Liam and their dog Dennis.

Earlier this year, Candice revealed she hadn't yet chosen her dress for the special day, however she did reveal that she might take some inspiration from one rather famous person - actress Jennifer Lawerence.

Candice revealed to Hello!, "We know where, we know when, it's just a case of going to try on some dresses. Jennifer Lawrence's dress when she fell off the stairs at the Oscars… I love that dress, I love it. But I don’t know, they say you have to try things on so I could be in a sparkly leotard!"

Congratulations to Candice and Liam!

Meanwhile, the show that made Candice famous, Great British Bake Off, is currently in the middle of its second series on Channel 4. Last week during Dessert Week, viewers noticed an editing glitch!

The signature bake then saw them create chocolate domes and hot sauce to melt the ball and reveal a delicious cake inside. However, during the showstopper reveals, there was a glitch where the programme showed presenter Sandi Toksvig head towards Rahul, leading many to believe that he'd won Star Baker once again!
