So we’re trusting you’re suitably stoked about this Saturday’s gathering of some of the biggest names in pop to record the new Band Aid single? You know, the one that’s Ebola-themed and will have it's lyrics tweaked to sound a bit more, er, virussy?

Artists including Adele, Sam Smith, Olly Murs, Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith, Bastille and Jessie Ware have been rounded up by Sir Bob Geldof to put the track together this weekend, and we really can’t wait for another heartbreaking yet strangely-popular-on-the-dancefloor hit to play on loop this yuletide.

The new logo for the track has been announced and we think we can all agree that it’s suitably red and positive-looking. We’ve also found out that the cover artwork will be provided by Turner prize nominee Tracey Emin. Exciting.

The new single will be released on November 17 but if you can’t wait until then, enter the Prizeo competition for a chance to win a place for you and a guest to go to the recording this weekend. Go on, do it – when else will you get the chance to witness Sam Smith desperately trying to look like he has a social conscience in the flesh?

And if the thought of the presence of Sam Smith makes you, um, not want to enter the competition, focus all of your thoughts on charming Ellie Goulding, who's pretty keen for entrants:

Alternatively, text AID to 88833 to donate to the Band Aid trust and be in with another chance of attending the recording (the cost of a text is £1.50).
