Remember at the VMAs when Kanye West surprised us all by announcing his plans to run for president in 2020? Well so does current POTUS (that's President of the United States) Barack Obama, and he's clearly being mulling over the prospect of Yeezy for President ever since. So much so in fact, that he's managed to find a few words of advice for Kanye.
Speaking at the Democratic National Committee fundraiser in San Francisco, where Kanye was also due to perform, the President took the opportunity to joke about Kanye's potential political career.
Obama began his bit by telling the crowd “A little bit later you're going to hear from a guy who I hear has been talking about launching a potential political career,” before making a quip about Kanye's notoriously outspoken persona:
"You may have heard about this, Kanye is thinking about running … for Speaker of the House. But in case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS (President of the United States) thing, or as he calls it Peezy, I do have advice for him."
The president went on to offer the rapper some pretty lol-worthy tips to aid his career in politics, referencing both Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian, and his own position as first African-American president of the United States:
"First of all, you've got to spend a lot of time dealing with some strange characters who behave like they're on a reality TV show. So you've got to be cool with that.
"This is the second tip, saying that you have a beautiful, dark, twisted fantasy. That's what's known as 'off message' in politics, you can't something like that.
"And number three, do you really think that this country is going to let a black guy from the south side of Chicago with a funny name to be President of the United States? That is crazy! That's cray."
We kind of love that Obama seems to be in support of Yeezy. We also really love the thought of Kim K and current FLOTUS (First Lady of the United States), Michelle Obama potentially hanging out together. Please make this happen, universe.
