We all knew that David and Victoria Beckham's kids were probably going to go on to become superstars - look at Cruz already releasing a single and Brooklyn being, y'know, Brooklyn - but now we definitely know. Because the pair just trademarked all their kids' names, to make sure they can't be used by companies without permission.
Even Harper, who is five.
An Intellectual Property Office search revealed that Harper Brooklyn (who is 18), Romeo (14), and Cruz (12), were all registered to the UK’s IPO and EU-wide office in December last year.
And they've been trademarked in seven categories, including the entertainment industry and beauty products – which involves perfume, make-up and anti-ageing creams, stationary, handbags, books, clothing, toys and dolls.
Victoria and David have obviously both trademarked their names, but they also have
David Beckham Instinct, Intimately Beckham, David Beckham Bodywear, The David Beckham Academy, Intimately Beckham and David Beckham Beyond too. Basically, all the Beckham aftershaves. Oh, and Smokey Beckham too - David's flavour of crisp.
Imagine if your mum had you trademarked in case you were going to be super successful and famous, and you just wanted to work in a shop. What if Harper wants to go into agriculture?!
Something tells us that won't be the case.
Brooklyn is managed by David’s agent Simon Oliveira and is already making his mark as a fashion photographer, with a photography book out next month. Romeo has fronted Burberry fashion campaigns, and Cruz launched his pop career last year with a Christmas charity single. As well as rapping in adorable Instagram videos his parents post.
The trademark lasts for ten years, so we look forward to seeing what they do between now and 2027...
