Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter have reportedly decided on a rather lovely name for their baby boy – Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch.
The Sherlock actor is said to have decided on Carlton for his two-month old son because it is a family name shared by both the star and his dad Timothy, according to the Mail on Sunday.
Benedict also played a character called Christopher in a BBC television adaptation of Parade’s End.
The actor and wife Sophie welcomed their first child together earlier this year on June 1.
At the time, a spokesman for the pair said: “Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son.
“We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.”
The couple announced their engagement in November last year in the Forthcoming Marriages section of The Times newspaper.
A spokesperson confirmed they were expecting their first child together in January this year and they married on the Isle of Wight in February.
