When you think Benedict Cumberbatch, you think “Sherlock”. Or “fit”. Or “husband material”. Or “pale”. But you probably don’t think “muscles”.

Only that’s all about to change. Ben is eating DOUBLE the amount of daily calories and has got himself a personal trainer so he can beef up for new Marvel film Dr Strange, according to* The Sun*.

Sounds excellent (the double calories bit, anyway).

An insider told the paper: “Dr Strange was always muscly in the cartoons so Benedict has to look the part when they start filming in the autumn.

“Skinny Sherlock Holmes will be the last thing anyone thinks about.”

We’d like to add the point that a committed Cumberbitch will NEVER NOT be thinking about Sherlock, actually, but those muscles are going to be quite distracting.

We’re not quite sure if we’re ready for the David McIntosh version of Benedict, but maybe it will work.

Maybe he’s down the gym, listening to Tiesto and uploading some #eatcleantraindirty photos of banana and oat protein shakes as we write this very story.

Although please try not to get one of those scary huge necks, Benedict. Yours is so elegant and pale.
