Beyoncé won’t be giving away a free album on iTunes. SO THERE.

There goes our dream of a Beyoncé freebie in our iTunes, then.

U2 sparked controversy when a copy of their album popped up on everyone's iTunes, mainly because nobody really wanted it, but now her people have confirmed that she'd never do the same. Which is a shame because we're way prefer a free Bey album to a free Bono one.

Despite the fact that Yoncé teamed up with Apple for the release of her last album, which appeared complete with music videos in a surprise release last year, there are no plans to release a freebie.

'I never like to see anything free,' Jim Sabe, her marketing manager, told the Financial Times. 'We've never played the pricing game. There's a misconception that recorded music sales are not an important piece of the mix of any artist business. They're still really important.'

He went on to reveal what it was like behind the scenes just before the surprise release of her last album: 'We were all sleepless, anxiety-ridden. We didn't have a back-up plan. We really didn't," he said, adding that Beyoncé chose iTunes over other retailers because 'their corporate culture is shrouded in secrecy'.

Rumours are circulating that Jay Z and Queen Bey are working on an album after the success of their On The Run tour, and yet more rumours are circulating about the state of their marriage. Either way, we won't be getting any free stuff from Her Flawlessness anytime soon. Sadface.
