Details of the document emerged today and show the singer is involved in a lawsuit with Monika Miczura, a Hungarian singer who also goes by the name Mitsou.
Mitsou claims the track – which also features Jay Z and Timbaland – uses part of a song she recorded back in 1995.
According to the lawsuit, the first 13 seconds of the track are actually Mitsou singing a Roma folk song and that on Drunk In Love, her voice has been digitally altered and put in.
We’ve listened back and we couldn’t tell you what it is to be honest but, from the sounds of the document, she’s pretty serious about it.
Mitsou also argues that Bey took her song – which was originally about feeling hopeless – and made it into something “'to evoke foreign eroticism alongside the sexually intense lyrics.”
Deep.
Alongside wanted the song featuring her voice to be prohibited, Mitsou is also seeking damages which could see Bey and Jay heading to court to settle the argument.
We think this is doubtful, but you never know…
