For over two years now, she’s been living in the public eye as her husband’s plaything – seemingly bending to his every whim, especially when it comes to her image and self-presentation. But last week, 11 days after her naked Grammy’s stunt (which he reportedly orchestrated), Bianca Censori reportedly told Kanye West that their two-year marriage was over.
For a short-lived union, it’s been a long time coming, especially amid global outrage at Kanye’s unhinged behaviour and concern for Bianca’s welfare. But according to insiders, while the couple have wavered on the brink of divorce before, this time Bianca is staying committed to her decision. As it stands, no paperwork has been filed, but those in the know are expecting an official announcement within the next few weeks – and from then on, all bets are off. Not only could Bianca be in line for a huge payout from Kanye – as it’s believed they never signed a pre-nup – but she also could be primed to tell all about life behind the scenes. According to insiders, Kanye stands to lose a great deal in the fallout – not only his control over the closest person in his life, but his control over his narrative.
'It’s not a question of if she leaves, it’s when,' says an insider close to the reportedly estranged couple, who first met when Kanye, 47, employed the Australian architect to work for his fashion brand Yeezy in 2020, and got married in December 2022 – one month after his divorce from Kim Kardashian was finalised. 'It’s taken a lot of courage for Bianca to finally snap to her senses and call her attorney, but she’s vowing there’s no going back this time – even though Kanye is desperately trying to change her mind. She’s suffered so much and can’t take any more humiliation. It’s so degrading being this laughing stock and figure of pity.'
Concern over the pair’s seemingly coercive power dynamic has been raised ever since they first got together – as Bianca, 30, has been paraded across the world in a series of X-rated and barely-there ensembles, reportedly at Kanye’s behest. As heat has previously told you, this is all allegedly down to his need for control and his propensity towards treating the women in his life as inanimate playthings. Speaking last year, one insider told us, 'Obviously, everyone can see that he decides what she wears, or doesn’t wear, but it goes a lot further than that. She barely makes her own decisions anymore… He even suggests what and when she eats and expects her to fit into his sleep schedule, and he’s also told her he doesn’t like her being close to anyone but him. He literally treats her like some sort of blow-up doll.'
At the time, and ever since, rumours of a split – or that Bianca was being subdued in an abusive marriage – were rubbished by people inside Kanye’s camp. But global outrage grew again last week, after the pair rocked up to the Grammy’s red carpet, and Kanye instructed his wife to drop her fur coat, telling her, 'Make a scene, I’ll say it’ll make so much sense. Drop it behind you and then turn, I got you.' Bianca obediently agreed, revealing her fully naked body underneath, which was sheathed by a sheer mesh mini-dress (which was almost invisible to the eye).
The rapper duly got the attention he desired, but it was Bianca’s much-debated consent in performing the stunt that came into question. Kanye himself has given both slants – both saying that his wife commandeered her look, but also tweeting (among a series of unhinged and hateful posts), 'I HAVE DOMINION OVER MY WIFE. THIS AINT NO WOKE AS FEMINIST S**T.' But general consensus is that Bianca was simply doing what she’s always done – following orders and duly acting like the perfect plaything.
Still, having followed his lead for so long, and apparently lost her autonomy in the process, we’re told Bianca’s finally told Kanye that enough is enough. This comes not only amid increased concern over her independence, but also following Kanye’s online hate campaign, that saw him rage on X, 'I love Hitler' and 'I’m a Nazi' – among many antisemitic posts – and also saw him glorify domestic violence, writing, 'When I [sic] man truly loves a woman he may express it in rage I empathise with both sides.' He wrote in a separate tweet, 'I HAVE HIT WOMEN BEFORE.'
The rapper has since been removed from X – but insiders say his hateful theatrics have finally gotten to Bianca. She’s apparently finally realised the extent of his control over her and, having once been flattered by his obsession with her as an art piece, she’s now no longer willing to be told what to do and when to do it. Let’s not forget, Kanye has a history in dictating his partners’ actions as he sees fit: he famously threw out all of ex-wife Kim’s clothes, before calling her his muse and dressing her in a cavalcade of skin-coloured bodysuits; he then did the same during a brief fling with actress Julia Fox, who later said she’d felt like his 'pawn'.
Bianca has clearly followed in these footsteps and, for a long time, acquiesced to Kanye’s vision. But she’s now no longer playing ball, and, as our insider explains, Kanye is running scared at the possible fallout. Not only could he stand to lose a vast amount of money, given their rumoured lack of a prenup, but he’s also facing the possibility that she’ll speak out about her experiences. For a man whose ego is infamously based on his wealth and his control over his own narrative, these are two outcomes that fill him with dread.
'Right now, Bianca is being inundated with offers to tell her story,' says our source. 'Even if Kanye made her sign an NDA, there could be ways around it. Bianca has seen behind the curtain for over two years now. She has so much information that he doesn’t want the world to know, and absolutely no reason not to share it. Right now, she’s getting her ducks in a row, and everyone is pushing hard to make sure she follows through. So much will come out in court and odds are she’ll be offered tens of millions for a tell-all. Meanwhile, he’s trying everything, from threatening that she’ll regret divorcing him to promising her that he’s going to change, to offering her money to stay.'
By all accounts, while Bianca still has her mind set on a split, it’s now a waiting game. She may have been a blow-up doll for years, but – behind closed doors – we hear that Bianca is finally coming back to life.
