Former* Big Brother* star Rebekah Shelton, known as Rodrigo Lopes prior to her gender reassignment surgery, has denied reports she died 'unexpectedly' in a shocking video released to Twitter.
In the video, she explains: "Hi everyone, I just want to kindly ask please stop spreading the rumour that I’m dead.
"Because obviously I’m not. I’ve been through hell today. Because someone used my Twitter account to write that stupid status about me. This person can’t accept the fact that I’m happy, that I overcame all my problems, and that I finally have my life happy. I’m on holiday, I’m in Arabia.
"I’m not dead."
Rebekah announced she was to live as a woman in 2012 following her rise to fame on the 2009 series of Big Brother, and discussed the extent of her surgery on the ITV show before reports her 'unexpected' death on Wednesday night.
Revealing she'd had a total of sixteen surgeries, Rebekah told Judge Rinder: "I’ve been through the worst three years of my life. I’ve had 16 surgeries. I’ve suffered so much.
"It started on the face. I had my nose twice, I had my Adam’s apple shaved, I had my chin, then they removed my whole face to get this part of the cranium out and then shave all around because the female cranium is different than the male cranium."
When asked which surgery was most painful, she explained: "The sex reassignment surgery itself. Incredibly painful.
"One whole year feeling pain every single day and blood everywhere and. It’s horrible because you don’t wake up tomorrow and say, “Oh a vagina”. No. Everyday you have to do something called dilation for at least a year. That’s the most painful thing ever. It’s like having a baby every day."
"I regretted it as soon as I had it. I had nobody in hospital with me. I spent a month in hospital in intensive care and I didn’t get any calls from my family or anything."

She added: "I saw that horrible thing between my legs and I started crying around the hospital saying, “I regret, I regret”. I wanted to kill myself because it was a nightmare.
