Kerry Katona and Brian McFadden split in 2004 before finally divorcing in 2006 and soon entered a very public war of words in which they seemed to criticise each other’s every move.
But it seems the pair actually may be friends again – former Westlife star Brian has praised Atomic Kitten singer Kerry’s husband George Kay on Father’s Day for “keeping our family together”.
Brian and Kerry have two daughters together – Molly, 13, and Lilly-Sue, 12 – but he has very publicly struggled to remain on friendly terms with their mother over the years.
However, it seems George coming into Kerry’s life has been just what they needed.
Brian tweeted: “Happy Father’s Day @mrgsjkay thanks for keeping our family together! Your a great man.”
Proving things really are fine in the Katona/Kay/McFadden households, George replied: “Happy Father’s Day buddy.. It’s a joint effort.. The girls are lucky to have 2 good men they can call dad. See you soon pal x.”
Kerry then retweeted both messages, before adding: “Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful amazing hubby! You really are the best dad ever xxx @mrgsjkay xx.”
After her divorce from Brian, Kerry married taxi driver Mark Croft and the former couple had children Heidi and Maxwell together.
Kerry and Mark divorced in 2011 and later met George who she shares daughter Dylan-Jorge Rose with.
The couple married in September last year at Tortworth Court Hotel in Gloucestershire.
