Blink-182 have been having a rather hectic week. Earlier this week guitarist Tom DeLonge had a HUGE ding-dong with current members Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus – after they expressed frustration with his commitment to the band.
Tom has now hit back at Travis and Mark via a VERY LONG Facebook message stating that the group is “poisoned”.
“As I watch [Travis and Mark] act so different to what I know of them to be, I still care deeply for them. Like brothers, and like old friends. But our relationship got poisoned yesterday,” Tom wrote last night.
The band had announced that Tom had left the band on Twitter, saying that he had informed them he "didn't want to participate in any blink-182 projects indefinitely".
But Tom states in his post that he was in fact working VERY hard on the band and new music. He even says that he put in two months of work into the new blink-182 EP - and the other boys only put in 11 days' worth of effort.
He then refers to the statement that he had quit the band, denying this.
“So you can imagine my surprise when a press release went out yesterday—without my knowledge—about the band’s future," he says.
“This is new to me. It’s not in my nature to fuel negativity about the legacy of the band on something as trashy as the Internet world.”
Basically, Travis and Mark insist that Tom has been a lazy so-and-so. But Tom categorically insists otherwise.
Oh, and Tom also tweeted this sarcastic message.
So, who's telling the truth? And why can't everyone just be mates?!
In our heads blink-182 are just a bunch of tattooed silly guys, messing around and singing songs about, er, having relations with dogs. That's how we like them. We don't like this arguing business.
So sort it out, guys. Or you know, don’t. But, please, stop fighting!
