Tragically, the friend – who wanted to stay anonymous – told FOX411 that there was little hope of a full recover for the 21-year-old.

“It’s now a matter of when the family wants to let go and accept that she’s pretty much not going to make it,” they said.

“They’ve left it up to the family as to how long they want to keep her alive.”

This news follows reports that Bobbi’s brain functionality was “alarmingly low” after she was placed in a medically induced coma in an attempt to allow her body to begin to recover.

Bobbi was found at her home in Georgia on Saturday morning unresponsive in the bath and was rushed to the North Fulton hospital, in Atlanta.

She was later transferred to the Emory Hospital after her father, singer Bobby Brown, took over the directions for her care.

In a statement, the Every Little Step singer said: “We are asking you to honour our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”

Hauntingly, this tragic event happened less than two weeks before the anniversary of her mother, the late Whitney Houston’s death.

In an interview, Bobbi said at the time: “She was a royal, beautiful and out of this world phenomenal woman and there will never ever, ever, ever be another Whitney Houston. She taught us very, very, very well. I am my mother's child.”
