Last night's Brit Awards were one of the craziest yet but as much fun as the ceremony looked, it might not be all rosey for the winners!
According to Ian ‘H’ Watkins, keeping the iconic Brit Award statuette can cost the victors hundreds of actual pounds!
The Steps singer took to Twitter last night to reveal to fans that if the band had wanted to keep the trophy for winning Best Live Act in 2000, they would have had to chip in £500. EACH.
Pretty steep for a man-shaped bit of plastic, no?
H tweeted: “In 2000 STEPS won a @brits Award for ‘Best Live Act’. They told us we had to pay £500 each for one. I told them to get stuffed ! #BRTIs2016”
It wasn’t long before other winners piped up, with Liberty X singer Jessica Taylor claiming the price of the memento had gone up to £650 when they won Best Single in 2003. Because inflation, obvs.
We hate to think of how much Pam Hogg’s designer trophies set the stars back this year - bad news for Adele if she wants to keep all four of hers!
