We're just a few weeks away from one of the biggest weddings of the year, the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and yesterday more details of the day were revealed.

While there have been many rumours about which pop stars might be attending, or even performing on the big day, yesterday Kensington Palace announced less well known musicians would be performing. One of those musicians to be confirmed was a former Britain's Got Talent contestant and winner of BBC's Young Musician in 2016.

Sheku Kanneh-Mason, a cellist from Nottingham, appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2015 with his brother and sisters reaching the live semi-final stage. On the TV talent show The Kanneh-Masons performed a medley of songs ranging from The Apprentice theme to Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be'.

Watch one of their performances below:

Reacting to the exciting news that he had been chosen to perform at this special occasion 19-year-old Sheku posted on Twitter, 'I’m so excited and honoured to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.'

He continued, 'I was bowled over when Ms Markle called me to ask if I would play during the ceremony, and of course I immediately said yes!!! What a privilege. I can’t wait!'

Along with Sheku, Kensington Palace also confirmed other musicians to be performing on the day would include Karen Gibson and The Kingdom Choir and an orchestra consisting of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia.

The announcement of these musicians is just the latest in a number of details released about the Royal wedding which will take place on the 19th May. After releasing details of the date and timings of the day, details of the wedding cake were revealed earlier this year. In a break from tradition the wedding cake will be a lemon elderflower cake made by Claire Ptak who Meghan has previously interviewed for her blog.

Last November Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement with a photoshoot showing off the beautiful engagement ring that Prince Harry designed himself.

In preparation for the Royal wedding some memorabilia has been produced, but recently a commemorative plate caught everyone's attention for all the wrong reasons. Being sold on craft website Etsy, this plate has a photo of pop star Ed Sheeran in place of Prince Harry!

Although the seller admitted it was a joke, the product description read, 'Celebrate THE wedding of the year with this beautiful china plate featuring the portraits of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle on 19th May 2018.
