Katie Hopkins’ chat show has been axed by TLC after just four months on air.

If Katie Hopkins Ruled the World will not be back for a second series after just 69,000 viewers tuned into the first episode.

Self-billed 'Britain's most hated woman' Hopkins, who has a social media following of more than 600,000 Twitter followers, had plenty controversial moments on the programme - including calling an audience member a “raging angry fat person in a pink dress” and telling columnist Liz Jones she looked a “bit weird," as well as suggesting there should be a tax for overweight flyers.

Katie is yet to comment on the cancellation and a spokesman for Discovery (who own TLC btw) said there was no comment to make

TLC gave Katie her own show after her documentary My Fat Story fared well for the channel in both the UK and the US.

Katie will appear in Katie Hopkins: Fat Story One Year On – a one-off follow-up documentary which will air on TLC on January 2.
