Just a few days after revealing that her gym had burned down, Britney Spears had to come to terms with more difficult news, as it was revealed that her conservatorship has been extended into August.
Britney’s father Jamie stepped down as her conservator in September 2019, passing the reins to the singer’s care manager Jodi Montgomery. Jodi’s position is technically temporary, but after the incident – in which candles apparently set fire to Brit’s gym – there is a chance it could become more permanent.
A source close to the 38-year-old tells us, “The incident with the gym has brought a whole new wave of panic, and there are a lot of people who are noticing how unstable Britney seems right now. That’s a direct result of Sam not being by her side to keep her calm.”
Britney and her boyfriend Sam Asghari, 26, are quarantining separately, and our source tells us it’s been really hard for her.

“These past several weeks have been hell for Britney, who doesn’t do well by herself at the best of times,” we’re told.

Yes, she’s in love with him as a boyfriend, but he’s also her de facto therapist, personal assistant, trainer and best friend. As she has openly said herself online, being apart from him during lockdown is absolute torture, and she’s feeling frustrated without him there.”
