They’re expecting a baby together and she’s already referring to him as her “husband”, but it seems there are still talks going on behind-the-scenes before Britney Spears and Sam Asghari officially get hitched.

The couple – who met in 2016 – got engaged back in September, but according to a source, they are still in the process of hashing out plans for a prenup before the wedding can take place.

“The talks have been taking longer than usual,” a source said of the alleged arrangement last week, adding, “Sam wants substantial increases for every five years they are married, should it end.”

Usually put in place to protect the partner with the larger financial assets, the source claims that the prenup also hopes to protect Sam, so he “doesn’t end up penniless if they separate.”

Even after 13 years where she was not in control of her reported $60m fortune, it seems Britney is more than happy to let her lawyers deal with this, while she focusses on plans for the day.

“Britney’s staying out of the entire process,” the source added. “She’s letting her lawyers hash it out with Sam’s team.”

The discussions surrounding Britney’s fortune are said to be “respectable”, but the source stresses that Britney has “no interest in knowing the financial details” and that the 40 year old “has concentrated on planning their big day”.

Sam previously joked about having legal documentation drafted just after the pair got engaged, writing online, “Of course we’re getting an iron-clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection.”

While a source has previously told heat Britney and Sam are keen to tie the knot as soon as possible, the singer’s pregnancy could get in the way of her plans after she recently announced she was expecting her third child – the first with Sam.

Sam recently spoke of his excitement for the baby, explaining in an interview with Access Hollywood that he wants to leave the gender a surprise – although adding that it’s ultimately “up to Britney” – and that when the baby comes, he wants to be as “hands-on as much as possible”.

In the interview the 28-year-old personal trainer said of his future child, “If it’s a daughter, it’s going to be the most spoiled princess ever. If it’s a son, it’s going to be the toughest son. I’m going to be tough on the kid.”
