She’s been silenced and controlled for 13 years. But now that Britney Spears’ father is no longer her conservator, the singer is feeling Stronger than ever – and she’s got some scores to settle.
Last week, Britney told fans that she was “disgusted” by the way she’d been treated, and said she was finally doing things on her terms – including celebrating Christmas early, “Because why not?” She then put out a defiant warning to those who had controlled her, telling them – and her 35.4m followers – “Lord have mercy on my family’s souls if I ever do an interview!”
The 39 year old has previously accused her relatives of being complicit in the conservatorship, and according to insiders, she is closer than ever to revealing her truth.
“Britney wants to have the last word on what she’s been through,” says an insider close to the star, who earlier this year said she’d been “embarrassed” by the way she was portrayed in the documentary Framing Britney Spears – just one of the countless specials that have been made about her over the past year.
“She understands why people are so interested in her life, but it’s been really sad for her to watch the documentaries without being able to have her say. She has a lot of evidence about what she’s had to endure under the conservatorship. She wants everyone to know how her family treated her, and she knows they won’t be able to recover from this.”

In 2017 Camilla Cabello announced she had left the band to focus on her solo caree, and in March 2018 the group revealed they were going on a hiatus.

Last month, Britney finally got closer to achieving her happy ending, after her father Jamie Spears was removed from her conservatorship, three months after she told a court that she would “honestly like to sue” her family, adding, “I also would like to be able to share my story with the world and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them.”
She’s since hinted that she’s set for an explosive tell-all, recently writing on Instagram, “The #FreeBritney movement has given me strength in finding confidence… my voice… and my sword.”
As heat recently told you, she’s looking at doing a Harry and Meghan-style interview with Oprah Winfrey once she’s finally free from all legal restrictions, which could be within weeks.
“Britney wants justice – to have her say and let that be the end of it,” we’re now told. “She has a secret stash of journals and video footage showing what her life has been like – she’s all set to have the final word.”
